This was written for and inspired by my friends Jennifer Brodnik Wright and Deborah Clair. They were my closest friends in Marian College and Columbia College of Chicago respectively. Jennifer encouraged me and guided me in my move to Chicago, and Deborah and her family gave me a circle of care and love and support that made me feel like I had a Chicago family. They are chosen family for life. We have all gone on to have and raise kids and make big strides in our lives, but what most impresses me about them is their commitment to making their world a better place. They are amazing people, and I am truly so blessed and lucky to call them my friends.
lyrics
Baby You’re Alright
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
When you found me I was in need
Of all them good things life took from me
Your love has brought me down to my knees
You are so good boy, so good for me
Hey, Hey
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
When you found me I was so young
I was so far, far from my home
You gave me love so strong and sweet
You are so good, good, good, good to me
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
(guitar solo)
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
You’re Alright, You’re Alright, You’re Alright, Alright with me
So good, so sweet, so strong, alright with me
So good, so sweet, baby you’re alright with me
You’re everything thing I need
You’re so good so good to me
So strong, so sweet, you’re everything, thing I need
You’re alight, alright, alright with me
Oh yeah, Uh – huh, Oh yeah, Uh-huh
Alright, Alright with me, Yeah Yeah Uh-huh, Yeah

J.C. Clements' lyrics have teeth and tell the truths of what it’s like to love someone with addiction, power through the
hours to pay the bills, and never let go of your dreams. J.C.’s powerful voice has been steeped in a life grounded in roots music, collaboration with her blues heroes in Chicago, & standing up to sing even when you get knocked down. Hard hitting songs for hard working people....more
