about
Did you ever have a day at work where you knew the only way to get through it was to step out to the bar down the road and have a couple drinks with your friends? Me too. My friend Joseph Dosterglick inspired this song when he came to this moment in life and acted on it. Knowing it would result in a write-up, he confidently and casually enjoyed his beverages and then returned to work in a fantastic mood. HR was not happy but Joe was thrilled. His work performance that day was astounding.

lyrics
Work has been so bad I know – There’s gotta be somewhere we can go
Call your Friends, call a cab - This is where the fun is had
We are gonna throw back shots and pull no punches
Fuck the boss, get liquid lunches
Blow off work - burn through the money
Blow off work - burn through the money
Blow off work - burn through the money
I know a place right downtown
Been years since I been there, it’s still around
I know the bartender pours them strong
Bring your friends they can all come along
Nobody lives forever, nothing lasts that long
Blow off work and burn through the money
Blow off work and burn through the money
Blow off work and burn through the money
Work has been so bad I know – There’s gotta be somewhere we can go
Call your Friends, call a cab - This is where the fun is had
We are gonna throw back shots and pull no punches
Fuck the boss, get liquid lunches

J.C. Clements' lyrics have teeth and tell the truths of what it’s like to love someone with addiction, power through the
hours to pay the bills, and never let go of your dreams. J.C.’s powerful voice has been steeped in a life grounded in roots music, collaboration with her blues heroes in Chicago, & standing up to sing even when you get knocked down. Hard hitting songs for hard working people....more
